Sure Start Update – November 2018

Update on Sure Start Programmes (19/11/2018)

Dry Arch Sure Start programmes are ongoing in our Dungiven Centre, Limavady Centres and Out and About within the Community. We aim to run these programmes up to Friday 14th December unless you hear otherwise on our Facebook Page or the via the programme coordinator.


SURE START PROGRAMMES IN LIMAVADY
Sure Start programmes in Limavady take place in our Catherine Street Centre and Greystone Centre. Information about programme venues can be found on posters, Sure Start planners or by contacting the programme coordinator.
The Nurturing, Solid Start, Cook It and Yarn a While Parenting Programmes are all ongoing. You can put your name down with us for the next programme and we will let you know when it's starting.
You can still book into any of the following programmes which are taking place in the next month; Bright Beginnings, Breastfeeding Support, Baby Beatz, Mini Makers, Wiggle Waggle Giggle and Christmas Crafts and Cooking. SANTA will be visiting our Greystone Centre on Friday 14th December. You have to book a slot to see Santa so please contact the Dry Arch Centre in advance.
Mum and Me Fit will be running up until Thursday 29th November in Roe Valley Leisure Centre. This runs from 11.30-12.30 and is suitable for parents, babies and toddlers aged under 4.

Information on Limavady's 2-3 year old development programme
November's Stay and Play activities will focus on Positive Parenting. Activities will be designed to encourage turn taking, role modelling, promoting positive behaviour, encouraging sharing and answer any queries parents may have. This stay and play will be run over 2 sessions. First session will be taking place in Limavady Catherine Street Centre on Wednesday 28th November at 9.30-10.15. Second session is also on Wednesday 28th, at 10.30-11.15. Staff will advise you which session to attend if you are enrolled in the 2-3 year old programme. 
December's Stay and Play in a workshop will focus on Christmas Themed Storytelling. This will take place in the Catherine Street Centre, time and date to be confirmed.
The last day of the 2-3 year old programme in Limavady is Thursday 20th December. Please feel free to wear Christmas jumpers through the December. 
Santa will be visiting the 2-3 year old programme children in Greystone Road on the 14th December. 


SURE START PROGRAMMES IN DUNGIVEN
Sure Start programmes in Dungiven are also ongoing. Bight Beginnings, Breastfeeding Support and Parent & Toddler are continuing to run, these are drop in programmes. Mini & Me and Christmas Bake off have now been added to the Sure Start planner - full details can be found on the links below - to attend these programmes you need to book in with Caroline on 02877742904.
The Solihull Parenting Programme, Baby Massage, Solid Start and Cook It are ongoing - these are fully booked but you can put your name on the waiting list for the next programme which are due to start in the new year. Please contact us for more information.

Ante Natal Yoga is running in Dungiven on Thursday evenings from 6.30-7.30pm.

Information on Dungiven's 2-3 year old development programme
November's Stay and Play is a Song, Rhyme and Movement session which will be taking place in Dungiven Library on Friday 30th November. Parents with children enrolled in this programme should meet in the library at 10.00am. 
December's Stay and Play is a workshop which will focus on Toilet Training. This will take place in the Dungiven Centre, starting at 10.00am. 
The last day of the 2-3 year old programme in Dungiven is Thursday 20th December. Please feel free to wear Christmas jumpers through the December.
