SLT Message of the Month - December 2023

This month’s message from our Speech and Language Therapist is

“Play your part right from the start, I need you to talk and play every day.”

It’s never too soon to start talking to your baby – they’re already listening to you, even in the womb! You can help build your baby’s brain by talking to them every day. Babies love hearing the voices of their special people, so talking to them and singing with them is also a fantastic way of building bonds and attachments too. Babies learn through repetition, so why not pick a few favourite songs, and repeat them each day with your baby? Interactive rhymes and games (like “Peekaboo”) encourage returned interactions with your baby as well as providing some fun time together. Simply talking to your baby and playing with them each day ensures that they are getting the best start in life.
