Parent / Carer Toolkit

In 2022, The Dry Arch Children’s Centre celebrated 25 years of serving the local community.

Every day we bring passion and energy to our work, we support children, young people, and adults in an open and honest way to gain their confidence and trust. Our role is to identify a family’s strengths and needs, find practical and achievable solutions and provide the right amount of information, advice, and support that all families need and want.

Our best hope for children and young people is to be the best they can be, and we entrust parents with the power, support, and confidence to make changes in their own lives and community.

We are always there for families when they need us. We appreciate the big job of raising children and young people. We understand that being a parent is full of demands and tough choices and sometimes it is just difficult. That is why we have a highly skilled team who are compassionate and committed to creating a community with no judgment. Parents have a significant and meaningful role in shaping the support available to them.

All relationships have a beginning, we reach out and connect with families at various stages of their parenting journey, the role of our service is to help families access and get the most out of the information and services we provide. Every family is unique, we draw on their assets and aspirations and we help them to build vital social connections and informal support networks, so they can truly embrace the meaning of belonging, being, and becoming.

This toolkit gives parents and carers key strategies to help understand your child’s development, to support them in their growth, and to celebrate the key elements we all need – Belonging, Being & Becoming. There are links to useful videos, online resources for parenting and mental health support, and lots of information we think you’ll find interesting!
