Description: Parents are welcome to attend this programme from approximately 22 weeks of pregnancy. We provide a relaxing environment in Limavady and Dungiven where SureStart staff cover topics such as empathy and loving attentiveness, infant brain development, healthy choices, managing stress and promoting self-esteem, confidence, and effective communication.
- Parents will be provided with the opportunity to discuss current parenting issues and concerns.
- Parents will explore why the first three years are so crucial for babies and young children’s development.
- Helping children manage their emotions is important for the development of children’s self-regulation skills, resilience, and sense of self, nurturing their mental health and wellbeing. In order for parents to support this function the programme explores how parents manage their feelings and what effective coping strategies can be adopting to help them positively cope with life’s challenges.
- Active parenting is the foundation for future positive social relations over the early years and beyond.
